Cost

This course is free of charge for University of Adelaide staff.

To book for this course please go to the University Course Booking System.

For further information please email Kogi Naidoo.

Portfolio Documentation

The CLPD has also developed documentation to assist staff in developing a teaching portfolio for use in personal development and in applications for promotion or tenure. Information is also provided on preparing a departmental teaching portfolio.

Your teaching portfolio is a summary of your major teaching activities and accomplishments. Because it can be used to illustrate your achievements, it is an important adjunct to your curriculum vitae (CV).

There are numerous reasons for preparing and maintaining a portfolio. These include:

  • the provision of evidence of teaching quality when applying for a new appointment, tenure or promotion
  • self-evaluation of your teaching
  • review with your Head of Department
  • fostering discussion and review of teaching within your department
  • evidence should the quality of your work be challenged

The CLPD document Developing your teaching portfolio outlines the type of information that you could collect in developing your teaching portfolio or a departmental teaching portfolio.

Additional information can be found on the Ohio State University site Developing a Teaching Portfolio.
This Ohio State University Faculty & TA Development site aims to provide faculty and graduate teaching associates (TAs) with a practical and self-reflective guide to the development of a teaching portfolio.
